Is it time to move out the old and bring in the new: General Council Election May 2010?
Election of the new General Council of the Budgerigar Society (BS) will take place in May 2010 BS Members
ballot form will be in the next “Budgerigar” magazine and should be posted to you at least 18 days before
the Election under Rule 12 subsection (h)(i) the result of the ballot will be announced at the Annual General Meeting
on the 31st May 2010 under Rule 19 section (A) General Business subsection (d)
It’s time for change.
The 2010 election of budgerigar society general councillors is the most important event to face the Budgerigar
Society Membership.
The present General Council (GC) have regularly complained that not enough members put themselves forward for
election to the General Council. Consequently, I was delighted to read
in the “Budgerigar” magazine (October Edition) that 22 BS Members have indicated their wish to stand for election
to the BS General Council. What this means is; that the membership could elect
a completely new General Council as only 12 can be elected from the 22 candidates.

This General Council election is absolutely crucial to the future of the hobby,
which gives the BS membership an opportunity to engage a new start in 2010.
